The End of an Era...
Last night, while enjoying an evening of Vegan dessert - it hit me: Michael Jackson is dead!
I mean, yes I knew he had died...and maybe it was the all day tribute to him (on radios and at the two different lounges we went to) or maybe it was all the people dancing and singing to his music (some memorized the dances and words)...but it really hit me at that moment that along with Michael Jackson's death is the end of an era.
A time of complete innocence, of McDonald's parties, The Original Ninja Turtles, non-copy cat artists, true superstars (before reality t.v. stardom), slap bracelets, glow in the dark jellies, real eighties style - none of this "return to the eighties" fashion (although I dig it), Saved by the Bell (shows for adolescence that didn't include pregnancy and sex, when the "audience" would go crazy for kisses), The Cosby's (my favorite) and Michael Jackson.
