Come Away With Me...
Last night for date night - Mike and I ate Middle Eastern food. Chicken Sharwma platters...deliciousness. Hot pita, warmish cool humus (just right), huge mounds of chicken ontop of rice...heaven. I was wearing a yellow shirt, a light jean vest, dark skinny jeans and my hair pulled up in a high bun - all of this acccessorized with my wide rimmed glasses (grandma-style).
After over stuffing ourselves, we climbed into our tiny car and went to Long Island to pick up our bikes at Dick's (thanks Mama Steel for the best anniversary present EVER). After "test" riding our bikes in the parking lot, we decided to find a way to stuff them into the car. This consisted of me sitting in the passenger seat with a bike on my shoulder and Mike's knees touching the front dashboard while he drove. That of course didn't stop us from bumping the music and jamming all the way home. God is good - thank you for our safety!
And like children breaking curfew, Mike and I jumped on our bikes and rode throughout the night - a little midnight ride. We rode throughout Brooklyn and to be honest, it was not that romantic. In fact, it felt more like two children being bad but boy, were we feeling free....
Come away where they can't tempt us
With their lies
I want to walk with you
On a cloudy day
In fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high
So won't you try to come
Come away with me and we'll kiss
On a mountaintop
Come away with me
And I'll never stop loving you
And I want to wake up with the rain
Falling on a tin roof
While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you
To come away with me in the night
Come away with me
