Mike slit his wrist on Sunday
I spent four hours in the hospital waiting room.
About two hours before the incident, Mike looked at me, grabbed my hand and said, "thanks for taking this journey with me! I am so excited about our future."
I replied, "thanks for asking me to come along."
Little did we know what awaited us.
The Incident:
- Left New York (with a full car of boxes) at 7:00 a.m. arrived in Maryland at our new apartment at 12:00 p.m.
- Unforeseen issue in our new apartment.
- Discuss (passionately) our displeasure with the situation
- Five hours later, moved into a more expensive apartment (To give God the glory, management was awesome and drastically reduced our rent, so now we are paying far less than the original apartment rent...long and short, we are wayyyyy on budget now)
- Pick up U-Haul.
- Drive all the way to Virginia to our storage unit. Mike forgot the key, drive all the way back to Maryland.
- Fill out paperwork for the new place.
- Remember boxes in our car, so decide to unpack the boxes.
- Unload boxes..."AUUUUGHHHHH...." BOOOMMMM.
- "Baby, you alright?" Rush into the kitchen, Mike is bleeding badly, he has a very deep flesh wound.
- Tie a yellow t-shirt around his wrist.
- Continue to move - drive to Virginia. Load U-haul. Mike is still bleeding.
- Meet up with Julius. Park U-Haul at his house.
- Go to hospital. Wait for four hours (Julius waited with us - he is an AMAZING friend).
- Mike is glued up.
- Get U-Haul. Drive to Maryland. Unpack U-Haul. Drive U-haul back to "U-Haul store."
- Go to sleep at 3:40 a.m.
